I’ve been wondering what can be done to separate a dining room and living room if they are in the same space. I’ve been looking at purchasing new dining room furniture. I’m glad that you mentioned putting in a rug for the dining room. In the photo, the rug does look like it separates the dining room from the living room. This might be something that I will consider as I shop around.

In this dining room designed by Charles Spada, Boiserie paneling frames a collection of Creil plates. Creil dishware and English dining table, all Antiques on 5. To reclaim your dining room from papers and bills, "you need to figure out the logjams that are creating clutter and handle those with portable solutions," professional organizer Lorie Marrero says. For example, if you pay bills at the table, get a rolling cart; if the surface doubles as a work desk, get a caddy for your office supplies. That way, come dinnertime, you can move your mess out of sight. For a cheap remodel, a fresh coat of paint on the walls (or floor!) can work wonders, or switch out tablecloths, rugs, or other accent pieces for a five-minute update. Quick tip: Before you buy any big furniture, measure and outline its dimensions in painter’s tape to make sure it won’t disrupt the flow of the space. Ready to get started? Now let’s get started. This is the view standing in the foyer looking into our dining room. I love the large window, it brings in a lot of natural light. I designed the curtains to enhance the middle crescent. I placed a stationary panel to each side of the window on a decorative drapery rod. I didn’t want to hide the window with drapes or heavy curtains.
Primary colors in this artwork include: Brown, plum, peach, dark gray. This proprietary canvas provides a classic and distinctive texture, while archival UV protectant inks make it scratch and fade resistant. The fabric base is flexible to support tight corners. The finished canvas print is mounted on a sturdy yet lightweight board to protect against warping, overstretching, or loose, sagging prints. It is then finished with a closed mat board backing and includes pre-installed, ready-to-hang...
Covered my grandmothers 4 dining room chairs perfectly! Great fit and updated a 60 year old family dining room set. Will need to line the the back of chairs because when the light hits the chair you can see through the fabric, but that is easy fix! Love them! Was totally surprised. (the 2 end chairs have arms, so bought set of 6, and will cut the fabric of the 2 extra covers and cover the bottom insert so those chairs will "match")
Sticking to a simple color palette allowed designer Phoebe Howard to play with patterns in this Palm Beach dining room. The wallcovering, inspired by a 16th century ottoman bedcover, is by Katie Leede & Company. The whitewashed fretwork dining chairs from Dennis & Leen, along with the tole palm tree and planter from Maitland-Smith and the striped rug, are nods to the nearby beach.
Inspired by the lush landscape just outside the windows (which were salvaged from an old train depot!), the homeowner of this 105-year-old Victorian farmhouse filled the dining room with rustic wood elements and pops of green. The Beech wishbone chairs, which are lacquered in an apple green, pop against the large antique hutch that stores the homeowner's collection of copper Moscow mule mugs and green and white china. A pale pink Oriental rug with subtle hints of sky blue and chartreuse rounds out the mix.
